MVJGT-LogoBLACK-101x130The My Hometown Sports Summer Fun Tour made a stop at the beautiful Yahnundasis Golf Club this morning, to meet up with one of our favorite organizations, The Mohawk Valley Junior Golf Tour.

New Hartford’s Olivia Previte follows thru on her tee shot from #11.

The MV Jr. Tour is in the middle of its 29th consecutive season of providing young Central New York golfers with an opportunity to play competitive golf, in a professional atmosphere, on some of the area’s finest courses.

The Yahnundasis was in its usual pristine condition this morning, as 52 golfers, boys and girls, ranging in age from under 12 to 18 years, teed it up for week #5 of the 7 week regular tour season.

The 2014 group of junior players is the latest in a string of great young golfers on the MVJGT, which, since it’s inception in 1986, has seen more than 1,500 kids play more than 21,500 competitive rounds at more than 270 tournaments!

MVJGT-LogoBLACK-101x130This season, the tour started on July 1st at Crestwood Golf Club in Marcy. On July 3rd the tour sailed through Twin Ponds, followed by a run through Valley View Golf Course on July 7th.

On July 11th the kids had the opportunity to play The Cedar Lake Club, before rolling into the Yahnundasis today.

Two dates remain on the regular season campaign, one at Skenandoa  on July 25th and another at Oneida Community on July 28th, before finishing up with the Tour Championship Invitational Tournament at the Rome Country Club on August 7th.

Whitesboro’s Joey Abraham sends a put toward the pin on #1.

Entering this morning’s competition, leaders in each of the divisions this season were as follows:

Boys 12 and Under – Zach Klein

Boys 13-15 – Cameron Soja

Boys 16-18 – Nicholas Arrigo

Girls 12 and Under – Bailey Shoemaker

Girls 13-15 – Dominique Bevivino

Girls 16-18 – Courtney Doxtader
